Who is PROVA Group?
PROVA Group is a company founded by former Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer, Emmitt Smith. Smith founded PROVA to modernize the collecting experience through secure authentication practices and unique experiences utilizing technology rather than outdated methods including holograms and paper documents.
What is LEGIT™ by PROVA?
LEGIT™ by PROVA is an application developed by PROVA Group to expand the collecting experience. It provides a digital portal where collectors can personalize an account with their own information, pictures and video so they can share their experiences with other collectors wherever they are.
What is a Digital Showcase?
A digital showcase is a modern way of sharing your collectibles on-the-go. All Standard and Premium plan users have the opportunity to create their own digital showcase by adding descriptive details, images, and videos to each item’s listing they have within their PROVA-tagged collection.
What is a PROVA SmarTag™?
A PROVA SmarTag™ is your connection to authentication information for your PROVA-tagged collectibles. It consists of an NFC tag and a custom-designed sticker featuring unique fraud-deterrent attributes.
What makes the PROVA authentication practices superior to those in the market today?
Unlike other authentication services, PROVA utilizes NFC technology coupled with a secure cloud-based database and a suite of proprietary applications to streamline and expedite the authentication process. Current authentication services place a sticker on a collectible item and record the data manually. That data sometimes takes months to appear in their data repositories. PROVA’s data is collected the day the item is signed and sent directly to the database the same day, making your data available almost instantly. PROVA’s stickers are also custom designed for each authentication application so they provide more security than other stickers used by the competition. PROVA also offers digital COAs so you don’t have to worry about losing your valuable documentation. If you require a paper COA, they are available for a nominal fee.
Why do I need to create a LEGIT™ by PROVA account?
To gain access to your digital showcase and authentication details for all your PROVA-tagged items, you will need a LEGIT™ by PROVA account. Our Basic subscription plan allows you to see your authentication details at no cost, however we encourage you to upgrade your account so you can enjoy our other features to expand your collecting experience.
Can I add items not tagged by PROVA to my LEGIT™ by PROVA digital showcase?
No, you cannot add items not tagged by PROVA to your LEGIT™ by PROVA digital showcase.
Is the LEGIT™ by PROVA app available on Android and iOS?
Yes, the LEGIT™ by PROVA app is available on Android and iOS.
How do I get an item SmarTagged by PROVA?
There are two ways to get items tagged by PROVA. You can attend a live autograph event where PROVA is performing authentication services or purchase an item from one of our partners.
What if my authentication information is incorrect?
If your authentication information is incorrect, please contact us by visiting our contact us page and selecting “Register My Item Request” from the dropdown menu.
COAs
Does PROVA offer paper COAs?
Yes, PROVA does offer paper COAs (Certificate of Authenticity). You can order a paper COA via the LEGIT™ by PROVA mobile app or by visiting your online LEGIT™ by PROVA account.
Why doesn’t PROVA automatically offer paper COAs for each item tagged with a PROVA SmarTag™?
Collectors are looking for a more streamlined way to share and document their collectibles’ history. In response to this, PROVA has gone digital! Our LEGIT™ by PROVA app provides a digital way of doing this while adding other great features that collectors desire. While we don’t readily offer paper COAs, we do offer paper COAs at a nominal fee.
How do I order a paper COA?
You can order a paper COA for each item tagged with a PROVA SmarTag by accessing your LEGIT™ by PROVA account using your mobile device or a computer. Select DASHBOARD, then MY COLLECTION. Once MY COLLECTION is selected, a complete listing of all your PROVA-tagged items will appear. Click the one for which you’d like to order a paper COA, then select the VIEW/EDIT COLLECTIBLE DETAILS tab, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the orange REQUEST HARD COPY OF COA link located below the digital COA QR code image.

Is there a membership fee to have a LEGIT™ by PROVA account?
No, creating a LEGIT™ by PROVA account is free. For a nominal fee, having an account will allow you to browse other collectors’ digital showcases; add descriptive details, including pictures and videos to your own collectible listings; provide access to unique virtual events; and more. The only requirement is that you own items tagged with a PROVA SmarTag™ and that those items are registered and tracked in the PROVA database.

How do I pay for a LEGIT™ by PROVA account?
We accept payment for a LEGIT™ by PROVA account through the PayPal payment gateway. Funds will be captured upfront at the point of purchase for any order placed via PayPal. When sending you your paper COA, PROVA will use the shipping address you specify in your PayPal profile.

How do I create a LEGIT™ by PROVA account?
There are two simple ways to create a LEGIT™ by PROVA account.
The first is online at account.provagroup.com.
The second is through the LEGIT™ by PROVA app on your Android or iOS device.
How do I look up a PROVA SmarTag™ I have found on another website or at a retail location?
You can look up a PROVA SmarTag by visiting provagroup.com and clicking on the VERIFY SMARTAG™ link at the top of the home page.
Can I view my LEGIT™ by PROVA digital showcase on my computer?
Yes, you can access your LEGIT™ by PROVA digital showcase on your computer by visiting account.provagroup.com. If you already have a LEGIT™ by PROVA account on your mobile device, use the same credentials you use to access your account on your mobile device to access your account on a computer.
How do I search for another collector’s digital showcase?
To browse for another user’s digital showcase, access your LEGIT™ by PROVA account, select DASHBOARD, then select SEARCH OTHER USER COLLECTION found in the left navigation pane inside the LEGIT™ by PROVA app.
How do I add images and videos to my LEGIT™ by PROVA digital showcase?
Any Standard or Premium Plan user can add images and videos to their digital showcase. First, access your LEGIT™ by PROVA account using your mobile device or a computer. Select DASHBOARD, then MY COLLECTION. Once MY COLLECTION is selected, a complete listing of all your PROVA-tagged items will appear. Select the one you’d like to add images and video to then select the VIEW/EDIT COLLECTIBLE DETAILS tab and upload your images and videos using the appropriate function on the page.
How do I view authentication details for my PROVA-tagged item?
You can view your authentication details by accessing your LEGIT™ by PROVA account using your mobile device or a computer. Select DASHBOARD, then MY COLLECTION. Once MY COLLECTION is selected, a complete listing of all your PROVA-tagged items will appear. Click on the item you’d like to view then select the VIEW AUTHENTICATION RECORD tab to view the item’s authentication details.
How do I digitally share my collectible on social media?
Using your mobile device or a computer, you can share your collectible on social media by accessing your LEGIT™ by PROVA account. Select DASHBOARD, then MY COLLECTION. Once MY COLLECTION is selected, a complete listing of all your PROVA-tagged items will appear. Click on the item you’d like to share then select the SHARE MY COLLECTIBLE tab. Once there, complete the form and click CREATE COLLAGE to complete the sharing process.
How do I transfer ownership of my collectible?
You can transfer your collectible to another PROVA user by accessing your LEGIT™ by PROVA account using your mobile device or a computer. Select DASHBOARD, then MY COLLECTION. Once MY COLLECTION is selected, a complete listing of all your PROVA-tagged items will appear. Click on the item you’d like to transfer then select the TRANSFER COLLECTIBLE tab. Once there, search for the user you’d like to transfer your collectible to, check the box by their name, and click TRANSFER COLLECTIBLE to complete the transfer. Once you click the TRANSFER COLLECTIBLE button, the transfer will be complete and the individual you chose to transfer the item to will be reflected as the item’s new owner in our database. Ensure you and the new owner have worked out the details prior to initiating the transfer.
How do I add my own information to my collectible?
Using your mobile device or a computer, you can add your own information and details to your collectible by accessing your LEGIT™ by PROVA account. To do this, select DASHBOARD, then MY COLLECTION. Once MY COLLECTION is selected, a complete listing of all your PROVA-tagged items will appear. Click on the item you’d like to edit then select the VIEW/EDIT COLLECTIBLE DETAILS tab to access editable fields associated with your item. Please note, only certain fields are editable. Additionally, only users with a Standard or Premium subscription will be able to edit select fields within their LEGIT™ by PROVA web or mobile application.
